ABOUT US

Our core purpose is to provide infrastructure for the development of the communities in which we operate.

With origins dating back to 1902 in the Western Cape, Concor (formerly Murray & Roberts Construction) has a long and proud heritage of more than 120 years.

In May 2017 Murray & Roberts Group sold Murray & Roberts Construction to a black empowerment consortium. The GEPF and UIF, through South Africa’s Public Investment Corporation, now hold 28% of the shares in Concor with the balance of the shares majority owned by Black People and Black Women. Concor is now positioned as the region’s leading Black Women Owned, Tier 1 Construction and Mining Services business in South Africa and benefits from the 121 and 75 year legacies of Murray & Roberts Construction and Concor,  respectively.

Capabilities

Concor delivers innovative solutions to clients across a broad spectrum of capabilities including building, civils, roads and earthworks construction, opencast mining, property development and emerging capabilities within infrastructure operations and maintenance. We leverage these capabilities to deliver large, complex projects and services in rural and urban settings. Our ability to innovate to suit the environments in which we work has positioned Concor as a leading infrastructure services group in South Africa and selected African countries.

Structure

Concor Offices

In order to effectively and efficiently deliver the above capabilities, Concor’s operations are structured into two platforms, Construction and Mining Platforms, with good knowledge of their respective markets, clients and suppliers. These platforms are backed by Concor’s brand, financial strength and Group-wide values, as well as centralised shared services systems, expertise and functionality.

Sustainability

Our values guide what we do and how we work, and this dual focus helps to ensure a sustainable future for our business, our people, clients and communities. We focus on the areas where we can make the most significant positive contributions: Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) and Transformation; Health, Safety & Environment; People Development; Diversity; Socio-Economic (Community) Development and Ethical Governance. Each of these areas relates to our core business, are interconnected and contribute to creating shareholder value. Concor’s B-BBEE strategy and status is especially noteworthy, with a Level 1 rating on the Generic Codes. Concor is also a wholly black-owned and 58.07 %  women-owned business.
