The Company recognises that all construction and industrial processes are potentially dangerous and have the potential to harm the general environment.

The Company acknowledges that Management has the primary responsibility to ensure that the work environment is clean, safe and healthy. This responsibility will be realised through co-operative efforts with employees to develop, implement and maintain safe working practices and procedures within the framework of applicable health, safety and environmental legislation.

In terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Managing Director of each division is obliged to ensure that the employer’s duties are complied with.

Develop, implement and maintain effective Safety, Health and Environment management systems and to srive for continual improvement through objective setting and continuous review.

Comply with relevant national and international Safety, Health and Environmental laws, industry standards and norms as applicable.

Train its employees to improve their knowledge of the Safety Health and Environmental risks.

Effectively protect natural resources through:

Protection of natural vegetation (Fauna and Flora)

Rehabilitation of Open Cast Mining sites.

Management of drainage and run off water.

Effectively control all forms of pollution by:

Reducing

Re-using and

Re-cycling of all waste to minimize disposal and to promote the efficient use of natural resources.

Contribute to the long-term social, economic and institutional development of all employees and the communities within which the operation is located.

Responsibility for Zero harm philosophy

Roles, responsibility and authorities are as follows:

Responsibilities, activities, meetings, audits and communication are defined in the Concor Management System.

Each employee shall take ownership of the SHE policy goals and objectives, in Support of the company zero harm drive.

Line management will be accountable for implementing the SHE policy and to Ensure that all people are aware of hazards and risk at their workplace and act accordingly. Any acts or behaviour of employees, which could put themselves or others at risk, will be identified and addressed immediately.

Management and supervision will be visibly commited and actively supportive of this SHE policy (walk the talk)
