NEW PRESIDENT FOR SAFCEC
Frik Venter, managing director of Concor Roads & Earthworks and Concor Civils, has been elected as the new President of the South African Federation of Civil Engineering Contractors (SAFCEC). Venter began his career in the civil engineering and construction industry in Port Elizabeth in 1977 when he joined Savage & Lovemore Construction, which later became part of Group Five. He moved to Johannesburg in 1996 where he started the Africa Division for Group Five Roads. He then joined Concor in November 2002 as managing director of the Roads and Earthworks Division. |

Notable projects in which he has been involved include the Warden to Villiers Toll Road, Maguga Dam, Coega Port and the Platinum Highway.
Venter follows in the footsteps of prominent industry personalities like Glenville Cullum, Bryan Wescott, Malcolm McCullough and Brian Holmes.
SAFCEC was formed sixty-five years ago to foster and standardise the facilitation of infrastructural development in South Africa.
